Forbes lists 15 wealthiest fictional characters

Melissa Kaplan Apr 14, 2010

In case you ever wondered how the fortunes of Beverly Hillbilly Jed Clampett sized up to Batman’s, Forbes has done the ground work with “The Forbes Fictional 15,” a list of the 15 wealthiest fictional characters, their net worth and how they came to amass their riches. Topping the list is Twilight vampire Carlisle Cullen, who garnered $34.1 billion thanks in no small part to being immortal. Other list notables include superheros Iron Man and Batman, Jay Gatsby and the Tooth Fairy (apparently Santa Claus was kept off the list due to letters to Forbes from children insisting he was real).

Here’s the top 5 according to Forbes:

  1. Carlisle Cullen, “Twilight”
  2. Scrooge McDuck
  3. Richie Rich
  4. Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man)
  5. Jed Clampett, “The Beverly Hillbillies”
