Found on my desk: a greenwashing overview from a new magazine

Janne K. Flisrand Apr 6, 2010

There’s a somewhat new school at the University of Minnesota: the Institute on the Environment (IonE). They’re publishing a magazine, Momentum, three times a year. On Friday, I came across Momentum in a pile on my desk.

This was the first one I’d seen, and their article on greenwashing caught my eye. While they don’t say much new, they do a great job of illustrating some of the issues greenwashing raises in the big scheme of things (consumer paralysis) as well as framing what the next big issues. In particular, they discuss how ecolabeling is headed in the direction of addressing more sustainability aspects for a wide variety of products and the challenges in trying to do that.
