Marketplace Minute with Bill Radke 2/19

Bill Radke Feb 19, 2010

The head of Toyota has been through the mill.
Well now, he’s coming to Capitol Hill.
Lying in wait for a phony debate,
is a roomful of airbags who love to inflate.

Nuclear energy’s comin’ toward ya.
The government’s backing a plant in Georgia.
Critics say although the power’s renewable,
storing the waste so it’s safe isn’t doable.
They don’t want taxes to go to Uranium,
but public financing was unobtanium.

Google would like to be the Buzz.
Well all this week, it reluctantly was.
Its Facebook challenge went sadly errant
as users’ address books were rendered transparent.

The road the Beatles paved with gold,
Abbey Road, it’s being sold.
Sir Paul McCartney isn’t buying,
Andrew Lloyd Weber’s supposedly trying.
Money can’t buy me love, I know,
but couldn’t it save a studio?

Obama says stimulus spending is great.
The Fed is increasing its discount rate.

And Kevin Smith has been stirring up trouble,
’cause Southwest Airlines says he’s a double.

He’s taking it well, as I think you can see.
That’s it for Marketplace.org.
