CB Richard Ellis Corporate Profile

CB Richard Ellis is the world’s largest commercial real estate services company with operations in more than 30 countries. The company leases, sells, operates and appraises commercial properties; manages real estate investment portfolios; supervises construction; and originates and brokers mortgages. In all, it manages more than 1 billion square feet of commercial space.

Founded in 1906, CBRE is known as the industry’s top dealmaker. Even in this economic downturn, it has recently brokered a lease expansion in New York for Viacom, and relocated Taco Bell’s headquarters to Irvine, Calif.

Last year, CB Richard Ellis represented owner MetLife Inc. when it transacted the largest sale ever of a single piece of real estate: Manhattan’s Stuyvesant Town apartments to Tishman Speyer Properties for $5.4 billion.

The company has made dozens of acquisitions since it began to diversify in 1991. One of its most recent acquisitions include the $2.2 billion purchase of Dallas-based real estate services firm Trammell Crow Co. last year.
