IRS Email

Question: This e-mail appeared in my in-box and I want to verify whether or not it's legitimate. The language seems off and I don't know any reason the IRS would suddenly send such an email. The form asks for the last 4 digits of SSN, and other personal information.

It was sent by: "Internal Revenue Service"

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $340.60.

Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 3-9 days in order to process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons. For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

Answer: DO NOT ANSWER THE EMAIL. SPIKE IT. The email is a scam. Period.

Its where the paycheck company Mirablis went bankrupt. If you worked for a company that was using that checking system, you would get a w2 fom AEM, they took them over. I worked for tgi fridays and the same thing happened to me.

My friend recieved a W-2 form from AEM, Inc PO box 4916 Orlando, Fl 32802. It has an EIN 65-0991757. My friend never worked for this company. The W-2 form has the correct SS# name and address for my friend. Does anyone know what is going on and what can be done about it?

I recieved the same W-2. It has the same EIN too. I called the IRS and after waiting forever to get ahold of a real person, she said there was nothing the IRS could do and I would have to call the company and ask them to take me off the list. How can I call a company that doesn't even seem to exist. Every AEM I find is in some other state. I'm lost. Anyone know what it's all about?

I just found a phone number for AEM, Inc. in Orlando which is a leasing company that took over Mirablis in early 2007. It's 407-541-4898 and there physical address is listed as 20 N Orange Ave. #1400, Orlando, Fl 32801. I still need my W2 in order to finish my taxes and up until now only had the same information as everyone above. Hopefully, the phone number will be valid when I trying calling on Monday. Hope this helps someone.

My father also received a W2 from AEM. He is 78 years old and does not work. He is very upset someone has his SSN and that the IRS will be after him.

The address on the W2 is a PO Box. He sent a certified letter to the address asking for information as to when he supposedly worked. Someone signed for it.

Does anyone know what I can do to help him?

Like Mrs. Wagner, my husband also received a W-2 from AEM Inc. We have never heard of this company either, much less worked for them to receive wages totaling $177.60.
Don't like "mistakes" made where my husbands SS# is involved!

Note - Google AEM and it comes up as a company in San Diego, CA

I am very confused because i worked for a company that also had Mirabilis and I know that they are now called O2HR, LLC. I received a W2 from both, O2HR and AEM. Although i was able to get in contact with O2HR i am still boggled about the AEM company. I don't know what to do.
