Fun Fact: Agriculture accounts for nearly 80 percent of water consumption in California. 

This week Jerry Brown ordered the first mandatory water cuts in California history. However, the mandate was directed towards urban use even though agriculture accounts for more than half of California’s water consumption.

The Rhodes Trust, organizers of the Rhodes scholarship program, announced plans this week to expand its reach to China. We took a look at the financial gains to be made by both the program coordinators and participants in China.

Fun Fact: A new office layout could increase attendance to over 90 percent.

Amidst news that Facebook is planning to put thousands of its workers into one mile-long room, we looked at whether an open plan layout was in fact more conducive to a productive work environment. GlaxoSmithKline tried this out and saw their attendance jump from 40 percent to over 90 percent. But it’s not all about the open plan office.
