UAW and Volkswagen in talks to unionize U.S. car plant

Don't try to contact a member of staff at the German car giant Volkswagen this Christmas. VW's email server will shut down outside working hours.

Workers at Volkswagen's Tennessee factory are expected to hear this week about a bid to give them a greater voice with management.  The move would give a small foothold to unions at a typically non-unionized car plant.

The BBC's Steve Evans in Berlin joins Marketplace host David Brancaccio to discuss.
