Health Net, Inc. is among the nation’s largest publicly traded managed health care companies.

The company’s health plans and government-contracts subsidiaries provide health benefits to approximately 6.7 million individuals across the country through group, individual, Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE and Veterans Affairs programs.

Health Net’s behavioral health subsidiary, MHN, provides mental health benefits to approximately 7 million individuals in 50 states. The company’s subsidiaries also offer managed health care products related to prescription drugs, and offer managed health care product coordination for multiregion employers, and administrative services for medical groups and self-funded benefits programs.

Health Net’s headquarters are located in Woodland Hills, Calif. The company has some 10,000 employees. It reported revenues in 2007 of $14.1 billion.

In 2008, Health Net was named one of the Top 50 Most Military Friendly Employers by GI Jobs. On the 2007 Health Care Quality Report Card produced by California’s Office of the Patient Advocate, Health Net received three out of four scores for meeting national standards of care, and for how members rate their HMO.
