Jay Gellert bio

A Brooklynite by birth, Jay M. Gellert would shape much of his career on the West Coast.

Gellert attended Stanford University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1977. After graduation, he entered the health insurance business, with executive positions at California Healthcare System, Bay Pacific Health Corporation, and Health Systems International.

Gellert serves on several boards, including America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and Ventas, Inc. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors of the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH), serves on the CAQH executive committee and is chairman of its administrative simplification committee.
