I think you underestimated med student debt during this segment. Family medicine residency graduates in 2010 have a median debt of $239,899. 47% owe $250,000 or more. A minimum of 3 additional years as an intern and resident is required after medical school in the US. Some specialties require 7 years of post-med school training! I'm sure the median debt of those residency graduates must be shockily high.
