Will drivers compromise for the BMW i3 electric car?

BMW board member Ian Robertson speaks to members of the media ahead of the global launch of the new BMW i3 electric car at the old Billingsgate Market in central London on July 29, 2013.

After much anticipation, luxury carmaker BMW has released an electric car. The BMW i3 is the company's answer to electric cars like the Tesla Model S. The vehicle seems sportier than other options like the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt, and with BMW's brand-power behind it, the 170-horsepower i3 will likely find some customers in 2014.

But the company's long-awaited hybrid has some scratching their heads, including Molly Wood of CNET. Wood joins Marketplace Tech host Ben Johnson to share her take on the i3.
