You can tweet your pings

Or Tweet your Pings? Is it capitalized?

Listen, I've lost track of what's even a word any more. Tweet always was a word but it wasn't something done by humans. And then Twitter came along and it was Twitter users who started calling them tweets or Tweets or TwEetS or. Something.

But then the company adopted it as well. Now it says Tweet right on the button you use to tweet your tweet. And we all just accept it as a thing.

I understand the language is fluid and all that. I'm a hip guy. I'm with it, as the kids say. But working on a tech show all day I sometimes feel like I just spend too much time saying words that ought to be cartoon sound effects.

Now Apple has this Ping thing that they launched and nobody uses because it's all too much work. Because really? I have to join another social network and check in and update and ping and Tweet and oh god just make it stop. Right?

And Ping already had a meaning too, of course. From way back in the internet day. Ping! Where's my TCP/IP packets at! Holler! PING! This guy knows what I'm talking about.

So the story today is that Ping is integrated with Twitter so your Ping...ings(?) get twooted onto the Tweeter and some songs play.

INTERNET TECHNOLOGY.

Here's a monkey teasing some tigers.
