We’ll all be talking about net neutrality again soon

John Moe Sep 13, 2011

The Office of Management and Budget has approved the FCC’s rules on net neutrality. That means in the next one to three weeks, the Federal Register can publish the rules. These rules have been the subject of controversy in Congress – they seek to make providers treat all internet traffic equally by prohibiting providers from blocking or slowing down legal content online. Once these rules are officially published, companies are free to slap the FCC with lawsuits. Verizon and MetroPCS have already tried to sue the agency, but those challenges were tossed out because they were made before the rules were published.
