U.S. Cybersecurity, business, and you

Marc Sanchez Dec 16, 2011

A new House Intelligence Committee bill that aims to give private companies a big boost in cybersecurity is being mulled over. According to the Wall Street Journal it “would spur information sharing between U.S. companies and the government and give business substantial liability protection against customers or others who might sue over the information sharing. And that’s not where the protections would end.” Good news for businesses who can’t seem to keep up with the latest security practices. Bad news for privacy advocates, who are concerned that giving the government a direct link to company data, puts another security cam in citizens’ houses.
