1book140 is a new book club founded by editors at The Atlantic and Jeff Howe, a journalism professor at Northeastern University. They took some 300 suggestions from potential readers and conducted a poll. The winner is The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. Starting June 1, readers are encouraged to start reading the book and use the hashtag #1book140 to share their thoughts.
