Yesterday, the Securities and Exchange Commission issued guidelines for how companies should disclose cyber attacks. Sen. John D. Rockefeller (D – W.Va.) has been asking the SEC for such guidelines, and Reuters quotes his response as: “Intellectual property worth billions of dollars has been stolen by cyber criminals, and investors have been kept completely in the dark. This guidance changes everything.”
