Samsung can sell Galaxy Tabs in the U.S.

John Moe Dec 5, 2011

The battle, the drama, the hand wringing between Apple and Samsung moved forward today. To bring you up to speed, the Galaxy Tab and the iPad are kind of similar looking so Apple is trying to shut down sales of the Galaxy Tab all around the world. There have been victories for both companies in courtrooms across the globe. Now Samsung has won here in the U.S. as a judge has denied Apple’s request to block domestic sales of the Galaxy Tab ahead of Apple’s copyright infringement case against Samsung.

From the WSJ:

In Friday’s 65-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said that Apple may ultimately succeed in showing that Samsung copied ideas from Apple’s iPhone and iPad for its Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Tab computer when the case goes to trial in July. But for now, Apple didn’t meet the standards needed to pull Samsung products from the shelves.

So it’s not over yet. Also, it’ll never be over. We will all go to our graves with these two companies fighting in court.
