The kissing men have returned to Facebook

John Moe Apr 19, 2011

A quick update on a story from yesterday. A picture of two men kissing that was removed from Facebook has apparently been restored. The photo was initially removed and the person who posted it received a notification that the picture violated terms of service that ban obscene or indecent material. There were lots of protests (mostly on Facebook, all, oddly enough, accompanied by the photo). Now it’s back up and Facebook says it’s sorry for the mistake. Interestingly, all these decisions at Facebook are apparently made by people so this couldn’t have been a tagging or meta data mistake, it was a person who took it down, person who put it back up.
