Kinect outsells iPad, everything else

As we mock Microsoft for being late on music players, late on smartphones, ridiculously late on tablets, let us observe that they are kicking all kinds of butt in games. The Kinect motion-sensing video game system has sold 10 million units since its launch late last year. Guinness has now certified it as the fastest selling electronics item of all time, beating out iPad and iPhone.

As the NYT points out, one of the more exciting elements of the Kinect’s popularity is the uses people have come up with outside of gaming.
