Yeah, that’s sort of like John Moe: NBA center. But he had a lot more leverage to make his bonkers self-deception happen. During 2007 summit talks, he said, “”I’m an Internet expert too. It’s all right to wire the industrial zone only, but there are many problems if other regions of the North are wired.” Those “problems” must be why North Koreans escaping to other countries often had never heard of the internet.

Gizmodo offers up a few other ways that Dear Leader missed the technology clue train, including faulty missiles, empty boasts about nuclear power, really really awful laptops, and lousy arcade games.

 Then of course there’s the straight outta 1996 government website.
