Google getting busted for drugs

John Moe May 23, 2011

The search giant has been warned repeatedly by state and federal authorities about running ads for illicit pharmacies. Google makes a ton of money off pharmaceutical ads – people want to save some money on medicine – but apparently there have been some pharmacies that sell tainted or counterfeit drugs or don’t require a valid prescription. Federal investigators even posed as criminal pharmacists in order to see what Google would do, no word yet on how that panned out. Earlier this month, Google said that it was setting aside 500 million dollars to defend itself against an investigation related to its advertising. Apparently this was why. Man, this really threatens to disrupt my v1agr4 business.
