Dorking is the new hacking
Here's a term for you: dorking. It's how personal information from some 43,000 Yale University students, faculty, staff, and alumni were stolen. Names, addresses, social security numbers. Whereas with hacking, you need to find a clever way into a system, with dorking you just use Google. Someone searched on the right thing, found an unsecured FTP server at Yale, and walked right in.
Here's a starter kit if you want to go dorking yourself. We don't endorse dorking. We're fond of dorks, though.
