California city thinking of putting DUI offenders on Facebook

Huntington Beach, California is ranked first in the state for alcohol-related driving deaths. Now councilman Devin Dwyer wants to take a bold step: posting the mug shots of people arrested for suspicion of DUI on Facebook. Initially, he wanted to post photos of everyone booked on DUI, now he's throttled back and just wants repeat offenders posted. The move is raising objections from the police department who say it will hurt their community relations efforts and from privacy groups who say that, among other things, it's unfair to shame people who haven't even been convicted yet. Other cities have tried similar measures but they've been blocked after legal complaints.

I am all for it. Drunk drivers are selfish, uncaring, horrid people. Get a cab, call a sober friend or family member, or have a trusted DD with you. Don't harm someone else because of your stupidity!
