Amazon’s cloud goes down

John Moe Aug 9, 2011

Amazon Web Service’s cloud infrastructure went all blinky last night for about 25 minutes, knocking such things as Netflix, Foursquare, and Reddit offline for a while. Apparently the breakdown occurred in Virginia then spread out causing people to miss out on watching Phineas & Ferb on streaming and causing people to be unable to check in at coffee shops. The Earth, mercifully, continued to spin peacefully on its axis despite the horror.
