Amazon loves Kindles, hates quantifying

John Moe Oct 26, 2010

Amazon.com is hoping to take a little of the shine off today’s expected announcement of Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color. Amazon says that they sold more Kindles during the month of October than they did in the entire 4th quarter of last year (obviously, the 4th quarter is when a company like that makes its money). Moreover, they say that electronic books are now outselling physical books, that’s hardcover and paperback combined. Vexingly, Amazon still refuses to say HOW MANY Kindles they sold. They’ve never disclosed those numbers.
