Maintain correct tire pressure

If everyone in the U.S. maintained correct tire pressure, total U.S. carbon emissions would be reduced by 0.3 percent.

Keeping your car tires pumped up saves a ton of gas. Appropriate tire pressure can save 1.5% of the energy cars use--upping your miles per gallon and saving you money too.

Maintaining the appropriate tire pressure is especially important for Ferrari's Formula One car, photographed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Vladimir Rys/Getty Images.
