Compost at school!

Angela Kim Dec 4, 2010

Composting is a great science project for schools, and it also helps reduce the environmental impacts of food waste.

Talk to your school science teacher about building a compost bin, get your cafeteria workers to agree to help out, and study how food scraps break down, the different stages of compost, and the environmental benefits. Even if your school cannot make it an official part of the curriculum, it can be a great way to earn extra credit.
