Where are they now: Guns N’ Roses edition

Kai Ryssdal Mar 4, 2011

This final note today. Come with me now back to 1987. Duff McKagan was the hard-partying bassist for Guns N’ Roses. A few years later, an interest in the band’s finances led him down an unusual path: Finance classes at the local community college. Now he’s started his own wealth management firm for musicians.

McKagan says he’s teamed up with an actual investor, who presumably knows something about money. Although McKagan did write a finance column for Playboy called “Duffonomics,” he doesn’t claims to be an expert. He says, simply, “I didn’t want to be 60 years old and broke.”

Me neither.
