Ronald McDonald is here to stay

This final note today, in which the CEO of McDonald’s gets a little carried away with himself. There was news the other day that a group of health care professionals want the burger chain to 86 Ronald McDonald; get rid of him as one way to stop marketing directly to children.

Today at the company’s annual meeting, CEO Jim Skinner objected. This is about choice and we believe in the democratic process, he said. This is about the personal and individual right to choose.

Or it’s about kids and hamburgers.
