It's happened -- gas at $6 a gallon

This final note today, in which I promise never to complain about gas prices again. The Honolulu Star Advertiser reports today on a station in Hana, Maui, charging $6.03 a gallon for regular. Premium is $6.25.

Yes, gas is always expensive in Hawaii, but still.

Hi Kai,
I wonder, instead of sort of complaining about 6$ gas, you could talk about the TRUE cost of a gallon of gas. Include the cost of wars in the Middle East fought over oil. The spills in the Gulf and Alaska (which we're still paying for). If you could figure out the real price of gas, it would probably be much closer to 10 or 12 dollars a gallon. And if that were the case, the push for alternative fuels would be much stronger. Just the cost of lives alone (in all the wars and disasters) form an unknowable toll of grief, not to mention financial costs. Lets really talk about the cost of gas, and finally get off the drug!
The push for cheap food, fuel, news, junk from China, etc. in this country, is truly what is making us poor!
