Green v. Green : Environment v. Sales

This final note today. A lesson in how going green can come with some corporate pitfalls. Frito Lay announced today it's getting rid of the plant-based "100-percent compostable" bags its been using for its SunChips line. Apparently -- and this is true -- they're too noisy. SunChip sales are down 11 percent in the past year.

Green, I guess, is good. Sales are better.

Please reconsider this and try to find a new resource that can produce a bag that is earth friendly. That is so sad that people actually complain about the noise and will not consider saving the environment. What is this world coming too? Frito Lay you have the resources....

I was more inclined to buy Sun Chips with the no bag. It was was noisy, but I liked that it was compostable. I would buy more compostable packaging if available. This is sad that consumers didn't realize the value of this over the inconvenience of a little noise. Plus it make middle of the night snacking less likely because you'd wake up the whole house for a few chips. : )
