TELL US: How do you talk yourself down from the financial ledge?

On this week's show, Carl Richards, he's a certified financial planner and New York Times contributor, said that he often makes this suggestion to panicky clients:

Write down how you felt when the stock market was going through some volatility, and the next time you feel like taking on a risky investment ... read it back to yourself.

Even better? Why not take a video of yourself, give it to your spouse or family member - when the market's recovered, make them give you the tape and watch how you felt at the moment the market was, well, in the toilet.
