Bob Moon: Those familiar "smiley faces" at Wal-Mart gave way to some frowns today after the retail giant announced some cutbacks in its employee health care coverage. It's going to stop offering health insurance to any new hires who work less than 24 hours a week. And full time employees weren't spared either -- their premiums will be going up. Smokers, especially, will be seeing a big jump in costs.

Barbara Collins works at a Walmart in Placerville, Calif. We found her through an employee-run organization called "Our Wal-Mart." Collins has been with the store for six years. She works full-time as a sales associate.

Barbara Collins: I pay $10 every two weeks, and it's going up to 18. My deductible is $1000 now, come January 1, it'll be 5000. I don't make that much money. I don't see how anybody thinks I can bay those bills.

Wal-Mart says it had to make choices that it wishes it didn't have to make, but it will keep paying the majority of costs for employee health care. The company says it currently insures more than one million people, including the families of its workers.

On November 11th. Call in sick. On November 11th. Every single Walmart employee should call in sick. Express YOUR strength.

Good shot. 1 in a million. Write a book. Write a book. Even him - Dick Cheney; Any 1 of the 1 percent. Are you brave enough. at 100 yards - 50 yards - 20 paces - or 2 feet? Even with the second.

I worked at WalMart for 15 years and you can believe me when i tell you that they are the worst company in America to work for.I had to do such heavy lifting that my back will never be right again..they care nothing for the workers . Every year benefit after benefit was quitly taken away. At the same time the Waltons raked in billions and upper managment was paid obscene salaries.I didn't dare file workman's compensation because I new they would pay thier army of high paid lawyer millions before they would pay me a dime.I'm now on disablity living on $800.00 a month.
I wish I was able to join the OWS group or the "mob" that Fox news calls them. The working people of this country is being treaded horrible by the top 1% that has seen thier wealth increase nearly 500% in 25 years while the rest of the 99% has gone up a measly 20 %: Not even keeping up with inflation.
Most of the empoylees are on some type of assitance due to the low pay.And to top that off Wal mart is given tax breaks to hire employees on assitance.
It makes me sick to hear Rebublicans call social security an intitlement when we paid in to it for years.SS would be doing fine if they hadn't raided the fund for years. Now they want to balance budget on Grangma's back while giving billionaire, millionaire and big oil tax breaks !

Walmart as well as our federal Government is sending our jobs and our wealth to other countries. Walmart can afford to take care of its workers but they are greedy. Washing and Walmart have one thing in common, they are both traitors to the American people, and as such they should be put out of business.

I urge every American to educate themselves and view the documentary titled "The High Cost of Low Prices". Wal Mart is a predator and we insure their survival by passing through their front doors seeking "bargains". Wake up citizens to the their greed and to ours.

Remember way back in the late 70's and early 80's when WalMart advertised "Made in America"? Their message was that we should shop there because their merchandise was all made here, and we should support our own. I challenge you to find anything in their store made here. Their executives make huge salaries, but they want more. In order to have more, their employees must sacrafice more. As it is in so many businesses in this country, employees must give up more so their management can have more. And they wonder why the OWS people are so angry, and wonder what they want!
