TEXT OF STORY

Bill Radke: And finally, if you're considering installing an automatic door at your business, OK, but know the possible consequences.

Puyallup, Wash. was holding its annual Cattle Drive to kick off the State Fair when a couple of cattle broke off the parade route, walked up to a convenience store and the door slid open.

Now the parade cowboys, on horseback, followed the steers into the minimart and herded them back out -- but not before the cattle looked at the cash register and saw the beef jerky. They are now undergoing counseling.

I notice this piece didn't mention the cattle causing any damage. This reminds me of an episode of Mythbusters, which tested the "bull in a china shop" axiom of unmitigated disaster. Turns out that bulls are not only disinclined to smash into things willy-nilly, they're actually very agile and quite able to slip through narrow passageways without so much as bumping into anything.

A bull in the grip of rage and/or panic might well be another story, but clearly not applicable here. And the Mythbusters understandably declined to take it to that level.
