The New York Giants are Super Bowl champions once again.

Defeating the New England Patriots for the NFL championship once again.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning was the game's MVP once again.

And 53-year-old Madonna performed acrobatics and dramatic dance moves once again.

In today's Mid-Day Extra interview we look at what Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show says about the her, the NFL, our culture, and the music industry. We talked with Jocelyn Vena, a writer with MTV News in New York, about what Madonna gets out of last night's performance (read album sales), and what the NFL gets out of it (read Madonna).

The half-time performance included a compilation of Madonna's best-known sing-along-hits, as well as new releases, and featured cameos from younger chart toppers including LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, and Cee Lo Green. So does this mean Madonna's still got it? Listen to the interview

Had to look her up on Wikipedia & YouTube (yeah I have heard the name, but couldn’t put any music with it). My conclusion? As Jocelyn Vena says, “She never really goes anywhere”. Still as irrelevant and uninteresting as ever; trivial homogenized mush.
