In the latest Big Book interview, Kai spoke with Eduardo Porter, author of “The Price of Everything,” about why we spend the way we do. The tech industry is highly anticipating an announcement from Verizon about obtaining the iPhone for its network, and Kai spoke to Marketplace’s Tech Report host John Moe about whether Verizon is ready to handle that bandwidth. California’s governor Jerry Brown announced his budget plan today, and it comes with major cuts — expect other states to be watching closely. Now that there are new rules concerning overdraft fees, banks are adding new fees that look to be aimed at its lower income customers. French president Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron are considering adding well-being to the measurement of GDP.
