Playlist: Groupon, Comcast and wine

For Marketplace, Tuesday, November 30, 2010

On the last day of November, we looked at Groupon.com, and why the popular shopping site may be Google's next big buy. Netflix and Comcast are coming to battle about the higher fees Comcast is charging to deal with online video streaming. Freakonomics' Stephen Dubner stopped by to ask whether the more expensive wine is the best tasting, and whether we should rely on wine experts. Bob Moon dissected the consumer spending numbers, while David Gura looked at why bank executive pay is still high, despite federal efforts to enact pay limits. Americans might not be as Vitamin D-deficient as we thought. And Scott Tong found the intersection of climate change and the insurance industry, in Cancun, nonetheless. And here are the songs we played:

  • What's Crazy? - OddiseeBuy
  • And Here We Test Our Powers of Observation - The Bad PlusBuy
  • Eat Your Heart Up - The BlowBuy
  • Make Light - Passion PitBuy
  • The Tallest Man, the Broadest Shoulders Part I: The Great Frontier Part II: Come to Me Only With Playthings Now - Sufjan StevensBuy
