Playlist: Food and Internet in Egypt

For Marketplace, Monday, January 31, 2011

The protests and general unrest in Egypt is causing fears of global instability. Food and fuel are in short supply there, but the oil markets have surprisingly remained steady. The Internet shutdown that occurred in Egypt has some wondering if it could be possible here in the U.S.

Meanwhile, the World Economic Forum wrapped up this past weekend. Chrysler could be headed toward profits in 2011. Charlie Sheen may be in rehab, but his show "Two and a Half Men" is still doing great. And with the job economy as it is here in the U.S., some Latin Americans are finding they have to return to their home countries to find work. Here are the songs we played:

  • Faithful - AnwarriorBuy
  • Crazy - Patrice PikeBuy
  • Goin Down South - R.L. BurnsideBuy
  • D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) - Jay-ZBuy
  • Juveniles - The WalkmenBuy
  • Champions - Dan the AutomatorBuy
