Playlist: Feeling the heat

For Marketplace, July 14, 2010

Some sunny electronic tunes for a hot day in L.A.  Larry King's leaving late night and the band Deastro has the perfect parting tune: "Light Powered" - off the Ghostly Swim Compilation.  Argentine-born but LA-based band Languis delivers sweet melodies in the song "Resurrection Road" following our story about freeway teardowns.  We also hear Of Montreal's "The Party's Crashing Us,"  "Two Weeks" by Grizzly Bear and "Wildcat" by Ratatat.  Growl

Hi, Marketplace music selection is awesome.
Would it possible to have sample play widget on the same page where it says Buy. Going back and forth ( Amazon/marketplace) is very time consuming.
    Keep it up!
    Thank you,
    Yogesh

We just discovered an Amazon widget will allow us to provide sample song links! Look for an update to this section in the next few weeks.

Hear hear! I agree! I love the music spots on Marketplace and NPR in general, but some are harder to find than others. I wrote down the date and time a song aired, but couldn't find it that way. So maybe dates next to the links, and then samples within the link.
    Great stuff!

Good suggestion. We'll be updating this section soon so that the date and show name appears next to the playlist title in the list.

Regarding the sample audio, we're working on that. It's not as easy as we had hoped but expect that for phase 2.
