Sales of armored kids' backpacks have tripled since Friday

This final note today, which is, I guess, a sign of the times. Although that doesn't make it any less depressing.

There's a company in Salt Lake City called Amendment II. It makes lightweight body armor, mostly for police and military, which you'd expect.

Since Friday, though, sales of armored kids' backpacks have tripled. They've got a teen model, and then one with the Avengers on it and one with Disney Princesses.

In not-unrelated news, today Michigan governor Rick Snyder vetoed a bill that would have allowed concealed weapons in churches, schools and daycare centers.
