This final note today, which reminds one that Google does indeed want to take over the world.

You know how there are all those new top level domain names out there? .me, f'rinstance, instead of .com? And .xxx for porn sites. Well, Google has done as companies do, and applied for a bunch of them it thinks have commercial value. .google, of course, and .youtube.

But also? .lol. The official Google blog entry on the topic says the company thinks it has interesting and creative potential.

To which one can only say: ROTFLMAO.

I run a system integration business and blog on Facebook about IT issues. I was posting all of this Doom and Gloom about network viruses like Flame this morning and thought I should end on a less pessimistic note. I was looking around for something and found this. It got a chuckle out of me so I posted it as my comment on my own blog post.

I've been wanting a .yo! for years now.

One fun thing that I've found developing websites for clients is when I'm working in my local development environment (my own computer), I can make the domain name end in whatever I want, like .loc or .yo. Funny though I still mostly use whatever the final address will be.
