Final Note

Local ‘News Mob’ descends on Angels stadium

Sarah Gardner Apr 6, 2012

This final note today, could be a little packed in the press box at Angels stadium tonight.

The Orange County Register – alone – plans to have at least 70 reporters covering the season opener.  With stars like Albert Pujols and CJ Wilson joining the team this season, the media and fan frenzy is at a fever pitch. The Register’s reporters are covering everything from who wrote the song’s for tonight’s game to a profile of a fan who’s going to propose to his girlfriend in the stands tonight.

The newspaper calls its Angels reporting team the newspaper’s first official “news mob.”  We’re just happy to hear a newspaper still has enough reporters for a mob of any kind.
