This final note today, in which commerce ruins one of the last bastions of innocence and purity left in this world: The smell of a baby.

The Italian fashion house Dolce and Gabbana is coming out with a perfume for babies. Notes of citrus, honey and melon, we're told.

So yeah, that.

It has given us a great idea for a series, though: Completely unnecessary things for people to spend money on. Send us your recommendations by tweeting us at @MarketplaceAPM or commenting below.

You are aware that there have been baby perfumes for years, aren't you? Dolce and Gabbana is certainly not the first. Guerlain, Givenchy, Parfums de Nicolai, Bulgari, and Kaloo are some of the fragrance companies that have offered baby fragrances. And, incidentally, so does Johnson & Johnson. I am not sure how I feel about scenting babies, but don't condemn D&G for something many others have done for years.
