What's the average citizen's share of U.S. debt?

The U.S. Department of Treasury says the U.S. government is going to come within $100 billion of its debt limit by the end of this week.

This final note today -- on the day that the Treasury Department told us the U.S. government is going to come within $100 billion of its debt limit this Friday.

I don't have to explain the debt limit to you since we all got a crash course over the summer. This time, the White House is looking for a $1.2 trillion increase in the limit, and it appears getting that increase will be a lot easier than it was last time.

For the record, the nation's borrowing limit would jump to $16.394 trillion.

Your share of that? $52,402.28, give or take.

It is true that 50% do not pay FEDERAL tax and it is because they don't make enough money. For a couple with two children that number is 26k per year. They still pay taxes when they buy gas, food, etc.

This is very misleading. I read that around 50% of people dont pay any taxes. So isnt their share zero? So effectively your share depends in which income percent you are.
