Poll: 69% of us knew super committee was doomed

Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), a member of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, also known as the super committee, talks with reporters outside his office in the U.S. Capitol on Nov. 19, 2011 in Washington, D.C.

This final note today, in which the American People are smarter than Congress.

We don't cite a lot of polls on the program but I thought this one was interesting. The Quinnipiac University Polling Institute -- which is a pretty widely respected organization -- said today 69 percent of us knew the super committee was doomed.

More Republicans than Democrats were right -- 54 percent of Democrats said the committee would fail, 84 percent of Republicans.
