Obama speaks about gas prices

President Barack Obama speaks during a visit to the University of Miami in the BankUnited Center Fieldhouse on Feb. 23, 2012 in Miami, Florida. Obama spoke to the crowd about American energy and later in the day he made stops at campaign fundraisers.

This final note. I don't know if maybe President Obama hasn't read the Gallup research on politics and rising gas prices this year, but there the president was today at the University of Miami -- making a speech about what?

Yeah, rising gas prices.

Crude closed at $107 a barrel in New York. Up a buck and a half.

To the conspiracy nuts with their Koch brothers and "Big Oil" tantrums...get a grip!!! Here is what is really to blame: the need to garner tax "revenue" for "Big Green," "Big education," and other "non-profits." The real scam is that somebody pays their mortgage and funds their "bogus" pension with this garbage!!!!

Quote: Refining companies won't say how much they make by selling fuel overseas. But analysts say those sales are likely generating higher profits per gallon than they would have generated in the U.S. Otherwise, they wouldn't occur."
But, could the Koch Brothers and their associates are exporting some fraction of supply overseas at a loss to prop up domestic pump prices? Demand is falling, production is steady and prices go up to near historical levels? The only time that happens is when someone like Jay Gould is working to corner a market. I think we are being played.
