Nissan recalls 2.14 million vehicles after ignition problems

Nissan said Thursday it is recalling 2.14 million vehicles in the U.S., Japan, Europe and Asia for an ignition problem that could cause engines to stall or fail to restart.

The recall is for vehicles produced from 2003 through 2006, including popular cars like the March and Micra, as well as more than a dozen other models such as the Titan pickup and Infiniti QX56 luxury vehicle.

No accidents reports have been linked to the defect, according to Yokohama-based Nissan Motor Co.

The recalls are mostly in Japan, with 835,000 units, and the United States and Canada with a combined 762,000 units.

I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra and have been having trouble starting my car from the very beginning but thought it was me. Now it wont start at all. Recently, it also has problems with the steering. It feels like it's really stiff and I have a lot of difficulty steering when it's cold. I know that if I take it to a dealer, which by the way I can't afford to get it towed to them, the dealership will probably find a way to blame it own normal wear and tear and try to charge me for it. Can anyone advise me?
