Daryl Paranada Jun 9, 2010

If you’ve got a spare hundred thousand or million to spend, why not splurge on a lunch with Warren Buffett? Just log in to eBay and submit your bid.

The online charity auction, in which the winner gets to dine with the Berkshire Hathway chief executive, is currently underway. You’ve only got a couple of days left to get yours bids in on eBay. As of Wednesday, June 9th 4:05 PDT, the current winning bid stands at $700,100.

From CNN:

The winner and seven friends get to pick the brain of the chairman and chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway over a steak lunch in Manhattan at Smith & Wollensky, which picks up the tab and donates funds to host the event each year. Last year, Smith & Wollensky increased its donation to $25,000 from $10,000. Winners are typically from the financial world, but sometimes bring their spouses or children to join the conversation, and most keep in touch with Buffett following the lunch.

How much did last year’s winning bid cost? $1.68 million.

Proceeds from the auction benefit the Glide Foundation.
