Haiku time

A few days ago, for some odd reason, I was thinking of writing haikus about the recession. I got busy and didn't do it. Then today, I see that Planet Money is inviting recession haikus, so I was re-inspired. And you're welcome to join the economic blog haiku party.

Haiku, remember, is 17 syllables in three lines. Five the first line, seven the second and five again in the third. Here are some of mine:

Breakfast burritos
They sound good, don't they, my sweet?
Check the couch for change

Dyslexic haiku
Poor I'm now, rich once was I
Recession stupid

Park the RV, dear
Retirement impossible
Will bag food with cane

Stimulate me, please
Oh, get out of the gutter
I just want a job

Have at it...

Staggering beauty. Spring.

Yet joy is not near.

My follies brought you down.

Yours lost my heart's dreams.
