Rich plan to spend $2,175 on gifts this holiday season

A fleet of yachts.

This final note: The rich, it turns out, really are different. And, perhaps, completely out of touch as well.

A study from the American Affluence Research Center finds that families with a net worth of $800,000 or more think the economy's doing great.

That's thanks largely to a rising stock market.

Plus, those families are going to spend an average of $2,175 on gifts this holiday season, which is four times the amount the average American family says it will spend.
